Besides my birthday two weeks ago, I have other things to be thankful about. There were unexpected blessings, including the result of my mammogram which is negative (no signs of abnormality). After visiting my doctor and hearing the good news, I headed to Red Ribbon to buy our favorite birthday cake and then Jollibee to pick up a simple lunch for our family of four.
When I ordered this birthday cake at Rocca Ristorante, the restaurant located at the 8th floor of Torre Venezia Suites, I specifically requested the personnel to place an owl cake topper. (N loves everything with owl design). I thought they would place an owl candy topping but this one is better and really creative despite its simplicity. They placed a printed owl design to form number 8 plus a single candle (to create number 18). (Thanks to the restaurant staff who ordered this cake from Red Ribbon.)
This cake is called Tiramisu Meltdown. So far, it’s one of the best cakes we’ve tasted from Red Ribbon.
Cake details based on RR’s website:
A heavenly two-layer cake of choco chiffon and cream cheese filling with a hint of coffee liquor.
My small family celebrated my son’s 13th birthday the other day. We only have cake and other sweets that we purchased from Goldilocks using some gift certificates hubby got from the office.
I lighted the birthday candles (not in picture) as we started singing the birthday song for the lad. He didn’t tell us what he wished for but I’m sure it’s something that he longed to have.
